I designed this playbill-esque piece after the album cover for Pizzicato Five's "Romantique '96." I felt that the elements of the original cover lend themselves well to this kind of adaptation, and I strongly felt that the striking photography of the groups members needed more upfront attention. I had the idea to design the cover similarly to a playbill since the music on the album almost plays out like a musical with interludes and all. I'm really fond of the groups takes on French musical conventions of the time and I wanted that retro patina to really shine through.
